EDUCATIONAL CONSULTING and Children's Groups
Having taught preschool-high school over the past 17 years, I am equipped to support children and adolescents regarding their academic strengths, stretches, and learning styles.
I can easily provide academic remediation or enrichment to students while incorporating effective study habits and organizational skills and strategies.
Within this process, the student learns to reflect both intellectually and emotionally.
I have a range of materials from which to pull and often utilize classroom assignments and homework to support students so that they reach their maximum success while completing schoolwork.
Having graduated as a South Coast Writing Project Fellow in 2001, I now provide small study groups that focus on writing in various genres. This supports essay writing for admittance to college, as well as expository and creative writing.
“Friendship Groups” for children and adolescents in need of developing pragmatic social skills in a small, contained, and fun setting has been a successful component of my practice. The kinds of skills addressed in these groups include working with social cues, effective communication, and conflict resolution as well as learning to be more introverted or extraverted as needed.

Divorce Group
Children of Divorce have special concerns. Sharing their experiences in a group setting can be powerful and productive. I offer age-specific “Divorce Groups” for 6-8 year olds and for 12-14 year olds. Participants express their fears and wishes in a safe setting, learning that they are not alone in dealing with their family circumstances.
